Removal of Old Clamping Assembly
The clamping assembly is made up of three distinct parts. They consist of: 4th axis motor, clamp bar, and base plate. First make sure that the machine is unplugged. Remember to open the door before unplugging the machine as power is required to open the hood.
To remove the clamping assembly, first use an allen wrench to remove the clamping pad as seen in figure 1.
Figure 1
Next, remove the two small screws from the front of the 4th axis motor cover as seen in figure 2. Then remove the two screws from the back of the cover. The cover should then slide off the 4th axis.
Figure 2
Unscrew and remove the 4th axis cable on the left hand side of the 4th axis as in figure 3.
Figure 3
Using an allen wrench, remove the front bolt that holds the 4th axis to the base plate as in figure 4.
Figure 4
Remove the second screw from the back of the 4th axis as in figure 5.
Figure 5
Lift up gently on the 4th axis and it will come up from the two tabs that attach the 4th axis to the base plate. Then pull to the left to remove the clamping bar from the other side of the base plate as seen in figure 6.

Mounting New Clamping Assembly
Reverse the removal instructions.
Please note that the new clamp bar uses three set screws rather than one for adjusting axis. To change axis, unscrew the center screw. To adjust clockwise, loosen the right hand screw slightly, and then tighten the left hand screw the same amount. When fully adjusted, tighten the center screw to lock in place. For counter-clockwise motion, loosen the left and tighten the right.
